Jon Stuyvesant was raised in the fertile bosom
of the rural Midwest. He was eventually forced to flee his family’s
catfish farm because his father was hung for treason after accidentally
sitting on the wrong side of the bleachers at a local football game.
Jon’s exodus took him to Chicago. Unfortunately he was mysteriously
tailed by an adoring litter of kittens, whom later met a grizzly fate
at the bottom of the Chicago River due to financial reasons.
Jon focused his new found blood lust into the art of motion pictures.
He studied his craft at the most distinguished of all film schools
the University of Illinois at Chicago. Soon following his intensive
studies, he was determined to make the front page of his alumni newsletter
and spent much of his postgraduate life as a wage slave to various
masters within the entertainment world.
Currently Jon calls Brooklyn his home, and is heavily involved in
a variety documentary film projects. “My attraction to film
stems from its ability to emphasize the art of collaboration. For
me it is important to focus on the process, because I find the rich
interactions that one shares with others while working on a project
show up in the finished work.” Jon invites all of you to take
shade in the shadow of his genius, but don’t linger, or he’ll
stomp in your brains.
